Looking at the Output Generator log files

There are three main Output Generator log files: service logs, transformation logs, and DITA Open Toolkit logs.

Table 1. Output Generator logs
Logs Location Description
Service logs %OutputGenDir%/logs/ wrapper.log Contain information about the execution of the Output Generator service.
Look at these logs if the Output Generator cannot be started properly, or if you get the following error message:
The Output Generator is not available. Please contact your system administrator.
Transformation logs <id>.build.html (stored in zipped output file) Contain information about the execution of the Output generator conductor files. This file is generated by the Output Generator.

Look at these logs to investigate issues that are related to executing processors and conductor files.

Open Toolkit logs <id>.ot.log (stored in zipped output file) Contain information about the execution of the Open Toolkit transformation scenario. This file is generated by the Open Toolkit.

Look at these logs to investigate issues that are related to the Open Toolkit transformation, for example to check for invalid hyperlinks.

To make sure that the log files are stored in the zipped output file, you need to set the keep.log.files system parameter to true in the preprocessor. See the preprocessors section for more information.
