Managing dictionaries

The DITA CMS provides standard dictionaries to spell check your documents.

You cannot add words to or delete words from the DITA CMS standard dictionaries, but you can create a custom dictionary. Custom dictionaries let you define terms that are not in the standard dictionaries but that are used in your company's documentation, such as product names, API function names, technical terms, etc. There is one custom dictionary per language. When you spell check a topic or a map, both the standard and the custom dictionaries are used.

This chapter describes how to add words to and remove them from custom dictionaries.
